Stifling a big grin in this photo, Rita Hughes enjoys preparing such a concert every bit as much as all the choristers enjoy participating. In her second year as Music Director at St Andrew Presbyterian Church in Sun City Center, Florida, Rita Hughes not only leads the Chancel Choir at St Andrew Presbyterian Church but also the St Andrew Handbell Choir which has a busy schedule playing frequently for church services. Her 37 year music teaching career has included private lessons, an Associate Teacher position with the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto Canada, and many positions in various schools in the United States. Born in Canada to a church-active family, Rita Hughes grew up with an extra solid church music foundation - her father was a church choir director and a professional writer of much church choral music. Rita Hughes also directs the Sun City Center Women's Chorus whose annual concerts are also held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church for the enjoyment of the community.
