Don't these two gorgeous birds remind you of a pair of ballerinas primping! And don't worry about the one balancing on one leg - he does have the usual second leg but it's evidently not needed for balance at the moment and he pulled it up out of sight.
Director Rita Hughes directs audience attention to those who have just finished participating in the 2010 annual concert by St Andrew and Friends Chorus. The performance of this sacred music concert involved 98 singers, nararator Peggy Anderson, organist Jo-Ann Winslow, pianist Robert Winslow, Jill Bartman clarinetist, James Feist on trumpet and all those who attended.
Jill Bartman, an accomplished clarinetist, joined with James Feist on the trumpet for an especially lovely duet during the goodwill offering taken at St Andrew and Friends 2010 Choral Concert at St Andrew Church in Sun City Center, Florida. Rita Hughes serves as Director for this choral group as well as Music Director for this church and also as Director for the Sun City Center Women's Chorus whose annual concerts are also held at St Andrew Presbyterian Church in Sun City Center.
Rev. James Feist and his trumpet were a most welcome addition to the St Andrew and Friends Chorus concert this year and those brass sounds added so much to the pieces in which he played. Currently with the Tampa Office of Appeals, Rev. Feist was ordained to the Music Ministry at Trinity Baptist Church in Sun City Center where he serves on a part-time basis. If this photo of him seems extra colorful, it's because the afternoon light shining through the glorious and huge stained glass window in the chancel of St Andrew Presbyterian Church was playing tricks with the colors inside.
What audience wouldn't enjoy a chance to sing with the accompaniment of both a piano, an organ, and 98 choristers! Here Rita Hughes, Director, readies the full-house audience to join in singing a favorite hymn.
The St Andrew and Friends Concert is an annual treat for music lovers in the Sun City Center, Florida area and was formed some 12 or so years ago by Kenneth C. Grom, now retired Director of Music at St Andrew Presbyterian Church, to assist young students in their study of the organ. While the concerts are always free to all, a goodwill offering is taken. Money thus received is given to the Kenneth C.
Shown in this photo, taken between the heads of other choristers, are some of the baritones and basses in the St Andrew and Friends Chorus as they await the start of their March 14, 2010 sacred music concert at St Andrew Presbyterian Church in Sun City Center, Florida.
This choral concert of sacred music, hosted by St Andrew Presbyterian Church of Sun City Center, Florida on March 14, 2010, followed Holy Scripture as its guide and was sung by a 98 voice choir composed of members from 13 different houses of worship in the Sun City Center area. Both piano and organ accompanied each selection and were joined by both trumpet and clarinet as well in several pieces. Pictured above, from left to right, are: Jo Anne Winslow, Organist; Rita Hughes, Director; and Robert Winslow, Pianist.
